Welcome

Welcome from Edwin

We are hoping to lead the way in school partnerships with other schools in other parts of the world. I have two schools in mind. Sinyolo Girls High School, PO Box 979, Kisumu, Kenya and Kawino Secondary School, PO Box 34 Darajambili- Kisumu, Kenya. These schools will be happy to start correspondence with other schools anywhere in the world for purposes of exchanging information on the environment.
We will be aiming at creating environmental awareness using schools as our main focus. Possible projects will be tree planting, cultural exchanges, energy and community support projects. Teachers have a big role to create awareness and promote students involvements in environmental issues. Teachers who will involve in this, stand a chance of developing professionally as the exchange of information and visits will provide them with excellent exposure to different teaching methodologies and learning styles. Exchanges act as motivation to pupils and teachers.
We will be using the existing structures like the Kisumu Link and Sister Cities, Supaken and the Municipal Council to achieve these goals. It is good to involve school governors and the school community for the impact to be felt effectively. We could start small with simple exchange of letters and e mails. Already I have got interests from Fabio in Brazil and a school in Leicester-UK, two Universities in America, College in Russia, two schools in Gloucestershire and a college in Torun. We will be giving the relevant addresses in this space soon.

hi every1. my name is Lonia from South Africa- Tembisa. the city could be a very busy life with everyone travelling and making a better living for themselves.we have noticed that all the travelling really has a bad influence on the environment and we then decided to start up a group from Cida City Campus that will bring awareness to people so they try to cut on using fuel and start walking. even though the group is not formally formed because we just started, if we persist we could make a huge impact on the environment. we understand that caring for the environment means caring for ourselves as well. everyone on the group has such wonderful ideas on how to make the world a better place for the animals, the people and the environment as well.

looking forward to updating you on our activities.
